Große weitgespannte Räume sind ein Erlebnis. Jeder von uns trägt Stimmungen solcher Räume in sich. Von Konzertsälen, von Bahnhofs- oder Produktionshallen oder Kirchenräumen. Sie beeindrucken durch Tragwerk, Licht und Akustik und entfalten entsprechend ihrer Bestimmung ganz eigene Atmosphären. Raum, Struktur und Materialität scheinen dabei in einer spezifischen Weise verknüpft zu sein.
Die Aufgabe setzt das Wissen um die unmittelbare Einheit von Entwurf und Baukonstruktion fort. Anhand von Modellen sollen präzise Raum- und Konstruktionsweisen des großen, flexibel nutzbaren Raums erprobt und sichtbar werden. Sie stellen einen wichtigen Baustein im entwurflichen und konstruktiven Prozess dar.
Die Nordstadt in Karlsruhe zwischen Altem Flugplatz und Willy-Brandt-Allee ist eine Wohnsiedlung, die primär durch die Zeilenbauten und Parkflächen geprägt ist.
In diesem Kontext soll auf einem freien Grundstück an der verschwimmenden Grenze der Nordstadt zum Stadtteil Neureut-Heide ein vielseitig nutzbares Stadtteilzentrum als „ALLESRAUM“ entstehen, dessen Flexibilität auch in seiner Struktur ablesbar ist.
Den Bewohner :innen des Quartiers soll damit eine zentrale Anlaufstelle angeboten werden, die es bislang in dieser Form am nördlichen Stadtrand noch nicht gibt.
Large, wide-open spaces are an experience. Each of us carries the atmosphere of such spaces within us. From concert halls, railroad station halls, production halls or church halls. They impress with their supporting structure, light and acoustics and develop their very own atmospheres according to their purpose. Space, structure and materiality seem to be linked in a specific way.
The task continues the knowledge of the direct unity of design and building construction. Using models, precise spatial and construction methods of the large, flexibly usable space are to be tested and visualized. They represent an important building block in the design and construction process.
Nordstadt in Karlsruhe between Altem Flugplatz and Willy-Brandt-Allee is a residential area that is primarily characterized by terraced buildings and park areas.
In this context, a versatile district center is to be created on a vacant plot on the blurred border between Nordstadt and the Neureut-Heide district as an "ALLESRAUM", whose flexibility is also evident in its structure.
The aim is to offer the residents of the district a central point of contact that does not yet exist in this form on the northern edge of the city.
