Im Zuge der Bauwende gewinnen alternative Baustoffe und Bauweisen zunehmend an Bedeutung. Besonders der Baustoff Holz spielt als nachwachsender und kreislauffähiger Rohstoff eine zentrale Rolle.

In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Zentrum Holzbau Schwarzwald erhalten die Studierenden in der Seminarwoche praxisnahe Einblicke in die gesamte Wertschöpfungskette – von der nachhaltigen Forstwirtschaft über die Verarbeitung im Sägewerk bis hin zu modernen Holzbautechnologien und konstruktiven Details.

Den Abschluss der Seminarwoche bildet eine 1:1-Übung. Die Studierenden bauen ein sortenreines Knotendetail, das Ihnen vorab zur Verfügung gestellt wird. Ziel ist es, das theoretisch erworbene Wissen praktisch anzuwenden.

In the course of the sustainable construction transition, alternative building materials and construction methods are becoming increasingly important. Wood, in particular, plays a central role as a renewable material suitable for circular use.

In cooperation with the Black Forest Timber Construction Center, students will gain practical insights during the seminar week into the entire value chain, from sustainable forestry and processing at the sawmill to modern timber construction technologies and structural detailing.

The seminar week concludes with a full scale (1:1) exercise. The students will build a singlematerial knot detail that will be provided in advance, to apply the theoretical knowledge acquired in practice.
