Die Stadt Bad Urach realisiert zur Gartenschau 2027 einen Pavillon am neuen Radweg, der konsequent nach Prinzipien des zirkulären Bauens entwickelt wird. Im Fokus stehen die Wiederverwendung von Altholz aus einem Rückbauprojekt in Billigheim-Ingenheim, reversible Konstruktionen und materialgerechte Fügungen. Das Holz wird analysiert, kategorisiert und als Grundlage für Entwurf und Tragwerk genutzt. Während der Gartenschau dient der Pavillon als Verkaufsort regionaler Produkte, anschließend als Rast- und Fahrradstation. Als interdisziplinäres Lehrprojekt am KIT entsteht ein realisierbarer Prototyp mit Vorbildcharakter für die Wiederverwendung von Bauteilen.

The City of Bad Urach is developing a pavilion for the 2027 Garden Show along a new cycling path, designed consistently according to principles of circular construction. The focus is on reusing reclaimed timber from a deconstruction project in Billigheim-Ingenheim, reversible construction methods, and material-appropriate detailing. The timber is analyzed and categorized, forming the basis for both the architectural design and structural system. During the Garden Show, the pavilion will serve as a venue for selling regional products; afterwards, it will be repurposed as a rest stop and bicycle station. Developed as an interdisciplinary teaching project at KIT, it results in a feasible prototype with exemplary character for the reuse of building components.
